Comment: UPDATE Leaking fuel sensors on Mercedes Vehicles and Terrible Customer service Everyday I run into more people with this problem the dealers and Mercedes Benz Corporate are very uncooperative about it . If you are lucky they may cover half of the parts and charge you the labor to repair/replace the leaking sensors. Just hope that your gas tank does not need to be replaced. Mercedes is getting hundreds of calls a week on these Leaking tanks and sensors. This will end bad for Mercedes, One day in the near future someone's house is going to burn to the ground because of leaking Fuel in the garage next to the water heater. We had the problem in our CLK550 2007 The dealer Fletcher Jones of Newport Beach Gave us nothing but trouble and getting the problem fixed the car has 7000 miles on it. Trevor Thornley and Heather Lewis the Customer service representatives only compounded the problems with his lack of knowledge and his inability to properly communicate with customers. We asked on no less than six occasions that we would like to speak with Garth Blumenthal the General Manger and only got the run a round from Trevor. In our opinion Trevor has no business communicating with upset customers. We were so frustrated in dealing with him we had the vehicle sent over to Anaheim Mercedes to finish the repairs. "We will never again step foot in Fletcher Jones Motorcars of Newport Beach". They have lost Our entire Families business Forever. and depending on the outcome on how Mercedes Benz Corporate deals with our claim to be reimbursed for all our out of pocket expenses on for the repairs made at Mercedes of Anaheim. They may lose any future business. We can honestly say that this was the worst stressful unprofessional customer service we have ever experienced at any dealership. FJMC have ZERO interest in customer retentions. They care about one thing ONLY "PROFITS and the Bottom Line". We will never buy from them again. They have made us into a huge detractor. We will go out of our way to publicize this experience and make sure as many people as possible will know about their lack of customer service and commitment . Shame on Mercedes Benz of America and Fletcher Jones Motorcars of Newport CA and Trevor Thornley. For NOT doing the right thing for their Long term Customers. This is a Serious fire and explosion Hazard. The fix can run 1300 dollars all the way up to 3500 dollars if you need a new fuel tank. The estimates online say that as many as a 300,000 vehicles are using these defective Sensors (I think it could be a lot more). After doing some research online We found that there has been a class action lawsuit filed against Mercedes Benz of America for these defective Dangerous Leaking Fuel sensors and Fuel Tanks. ( see the link below) http://www.scribd.com/doc/100877072/mercedeslawsuit Keep in mind these sensors are located directly under the rear passenger seats under a access panels. In our vehicle we actual smelled the gasoline in the cabin and the garage. The entire interior still reeks of old gasoline and we don't even want to drive the car. Anaheim Mercedes told us to leave the windows down and it will dissipate after time (Ya Right) Also note all of the leads and electrical lines going into this sensors in contact with the raw fuel/gasoline. Defective products are not just inconvenient for consumers. When products fail due to bad designs or manufacturing flaws, they can cause injuries and cost consumers significant financial loss. Manufacturers have a responsibility to comply with industry safety standards and to warn consumers of any potential dangers. If physical injury or financial harm results from their failure to do so, and when other consumers have suffered losses similar to ours, the manufacturers may be held legally responsible through class action lawsuits and complex multi-district ligation (MDL).

Comment: I traveled 30 miles from Torrance after speaking to Pon Shen ( salesman), he said he could beat any deal and to give him a chance. So after stopping at Long Beach Mercedes on my way to Fletcher Jones I had at least a base price to use to negotiate. Pon looked at the numbers Long Beach had provided, he topped there trade in offer and topped there price, that was the good news now here is where it all goes south. The car was not in stock but in the way to there dealership. He talked me into leaving a $2000 deposit to give me first write or refusal on the car. The car arrived at the dealer, Pon called me and said it was in. My wife and I made the long trip to pick up our new car. Once there Pon informed me that he trade offer was $3000 to high and he would not be able to increase that offer. He then said his price he quoted me for the car was also to low and would have to be adjusted up about $3000. My wife gets a fleet deal with mercedes, Pon said that to was in question we would have to pay the $2000 fleet discount and he would return the money once Fletcher Jones received the discount (really does anyone out there buy that). So now the price of the deal just went up $8000 from the deal I was promised. When I started questioning Pon he went and got his manager Cush, the first words out of Cush's mouth were, "You ordered this car". I corrected him stating we simple put a deposit on a car already being delivered to his dealership per Pon's request. He apologized but continued his strong arm tactics saying that our offer numbers just wouldn't work. I then corrected him again and said, "All of this numbers that you have written down are your salesman's numbers not mine, this is what was promised to us to get us in here". My wife and I left. I recieved many phone calls from the dealership over the next week, the last few where comical (tragic). A man named James called my wife claiming that Fletcher Jones would now take the deal made with Pon (not the original numbers promised but close), all we had to do is write a check for the agreed to amount and they would even drive the car to my house. My wife called me, I called this James, James told me that we were not going to be able to make a deal. I asked if what he had told my wife was true, he would not give me a yes or no answer and I asked several times. The only one person that has not lied to me at Fletcher Jones was a non sales person Candice who tried to make the deal but at this point I have been lied to by so many employees there how can I believe her! Beware! I have herd that honest reviews like this tend to some how disappear.
The dealer has resolved this issue

Comment: I did not purchase from Fletcher Jones Motorcars of Newport Beach, but felt that it's important to expose their lack of interest to serve their prospective client and instead, serve their own financial interest. I was lied to, manipulated, and treated unfairly. It was not called for. All they needed to do at the beginning is to say, “we don't sell the car you want at that low price, you need to go somewhere else”, instead of lying to me and saying dealers who gave me those rates are liars and say anything they want to, to get you in. Never, have a seen such arrogant, disrespectful group of car sales people all at one dealership. It's almost like they are trained to deceive people to make the highest yield on their sales. It’s outrageous. I guess someone has to pay for that big fancy dealership. Very disappointed, and will never go back to Fletcher Jones Motorcars of Newport Beach. They have no idea how to do business and be competitive in an ethical manner. The worst part about all this is that I was a personal referral to the GM and co-founder of Fletcher Jones Motorcars of Newport Beach. They insist that YOU MUST come in. I don’t want to come in if you pushy grease balls won’t tell me you can do the price I want. Why do I want to waste my time? Stay away from this dealership. You'll be glad you did. See all the negative reviews all over the internet, before you decide to go in.

Comment: BUYER BEWARE! Search the reviews to SEE the truth about these shysters. In summary, they bate you, build your trust, sweet-talk you, won't give you any pricing and insist you HAVE TO come in, regardless of your schedule or situation - in order to get the best deal of your life... because after all, they didn't turn into this Benz giant by not being able to give really better deals than all dealerships in the entire world. A bunch of lies, manipulation, and disrespect once you do walk into the lions den. They even had the audacity and dealer-stole the car I wanted from the dealership I made the decision to buy from, when they found out I was going there to get the car. They thought that will force my hand to work with them. It just back fired, because I've posted my experience on every single car dealer rating site, review site, social networking site on the internet. I've even gone to the extent of optimizing it through Google. That's bad business for these idiots. Maybe this will teach these scum bags a lesson. Karma's a bitch. So, here's the way it went down... Terrible experience with Fletcher Jones Motorcars of Newport Beach. I'm writing my review because I feel a duty to warn ALL prospective buyers about this dealerships sales tactic. Do yourself a HUGE favor and review all the NEGATIVE reviews people have left so if you still decide to do business with these lying crooks, at least you know their approach and won't be blindsided. Simply put, there is just too much to write about, regarding our awful experience with Fletcher Jones Motorcars of Newport Beach. We went to Fletcher Jones as a personal referral to Garth Blumenthal because we thought we would get great service and a good deal because of our connection. Not so. Turns out that we were totally wrong. I would rather spare you the details, because "bad business" is "bad business" any which way you want to look at it. It's their sales style to make their claim to fame about why they're the largest dealer for a million consecutive years, and how they have a wider variety of cars, and you get VIP service, etc etc. A bunch of empty promises. And, they didn't get to where they are today because they don't give the best deals etc. It's all a BIG show. A spectacle. All dressing and NO substance whatsoever. All their "teams" over there. I guess car sales people need to be in teams to be able to beat down and manipulate unsuspecting car buyers. Takes more than one person. The team Garth passed me to was the "James Sullivan" team. God help me, that was an experience from HELL. A total douche bag. All I can say is that if you are thinking of buying from these unethical, slick-talking crooks, I suggest you take a hard look at ALL the reviews here, of which OVER 50% are 1 star. Just click on "rating details" to see the chart. I bet if there was a way to give NO STARS, those people would do it. Once you've done that, "Google" "Fletcher Jones Motor Cars" and take a HARD look at ALL the reviews on Google, Yahoo!, CitySearch, JudysBook, InsiderPages, and DealerRater - and you'll find a consistent pattern of complaints about the way Fletcher Jones Motorcars does business and treats customers. They're so good at making you believe you're getting a deal, when it turns out that their prices are anywhere between 10-20% higher than most dealers. I'm sure they've sold cars to unsuspecting, novice car buyers at sticker (sucker) price. They bully you to the point you want to just call off buying a car all together. This is not supposed to be such a bad experience. Don't they get it? Whether it's a new customer, repeat customer, referral, or a tire kicker just wanting to try and test drive a Benz. Every single person complains about how terrible this dealership and its management are. The buck stops at the top. The people there are pretty much cut from the same cloth. Unfortunately, this sales style is even touted by Garth Blumenthal on You Tube. Look it up for yourself. You think they would be smart enough to not let the public know about their "sales tactic" to "not talk about price through email or on the phone" and to "get the customer to come in" so you're on their playing field. At the end, we bought from another dealer that treated us with dignity and lots of respect, and honored their word and delivered us the best experience. No fake royal treatment, no promises of mani-pedi's, no Starbucks coffee, or rides to the airport, or free loaners, or Disneyland treatment at the Great Circus of Fletcher Jones - just an honest deal and a great price. What most customers want and look for. Oh, and it was all done over the phone and finalized with a hand shake and referrals to follow. We saved more than 11% off of sticker (about $8k), and saved about another $4,200 off our monthly payments over a 3 year lease. That might not be a lot of money to the management of Fletcher Jones because of their fat pockets, but it's a lot for most people. Shame on Fletcher Jones Motorcars of Newport Beach. And shame on Yelp for not posting more of the negative reviews that they suppress because Fletcher Jones' PR people constantly contact them and claim the reviews are from their competitors, when they are not. They are from unhappy customers who experienced the worst car buying experience ever. You will notice the FAKE positive reviews posted by FJM people/employees following each negative review around the same dates - on every single site. They have a team of people handling these fire drills, but all it would take would be to treat people with a level of honesty and integrity - and provide "REAL" value. But I guess that's too hard to do, so they resort to playing games, bullying customers, being disrespectful, and at the end manipulating the customer till they get their way. It really doesn't have to be like this Fletcher Jones Mercedes Benz of Newport Beach. GET A CLUE! Well guess what!? Not with this buyer you won't! Thanks but no thanks! Keep on losing VALUABLE customers and see where your reputation will go from here.

Comment: They have this loyalty lease return deal that they promised you no penalty, no additional lease payment, they will pay off the lease, and get you a new lease, a bunch of BS. What they did was to bake the early termination penalty into the new lease, increase the lease payment without proper disclosing, and push you thru the deal. Very tricky. The dealer is desperate now and they will try anything just to sell a car. I called their manager to complaint later and he said to me - too bad, you signed the contract, California do not have cooling off period. I will never buy any car from this arrogant dealer again.
